About Old Dutch Hospital

Old Dutch Hospital, in the heart of Galle Fort, is one of Sri Lanka’s oldest surviving Dutch-era buildings, dating from the 17th century. Carefully restored, it now houses cafés, shops, and restaurants beneath its long verandas and thick coral-and-granite walls. While it is no longer a hospital, its appeal lies in the blend of colonial architecture and relaxed atmosphere. Visit if you want a convenient stop for dining, browsing, or appreciating a piece of Galle’s layered history within the UNESCO-listed fort.
