Vilnius, Lithuania
The Church of St Peter and St Paul is one of Vilnius’s finest Baroque landmarks and a rewarding stop for art and architecture lovers. Its plain exterior gives little hint of the remarkable interior, where more than 2,000 white stucco figures create one of the most distinctive church spaces in Europe. Built in the late 17th century, the church reflects both religious devotion and the city’s artistic heritage. Located in the Antakalnis district, it is especially worth visiting if you want to see a quieter but exceptional monument beyond Vilnius’s Old Town.
