Vilnius, Lithuania
Gediminas Castle Tower is one of Vilnius’s most recognizable landmarks, standing on Castle Hill above the Old Town. The surviving part of the Upper Castle, it offers a clear link to Lithuania’s medieval past and is a symbol of the city and nation. Visitors come for the small historical exhibition inside and, above all, for the panoramic views over Vilnius, which are especially rewarding at sunset. If you want a short, scenic stop that combines history with one of the city’s best viewpoints, it is well worth a visit.
